Established by the German Aerospace Centre, DNW is a non-profit foundation which is a leading provider of specialised wind tunnels and surrounding technologies.
Their old website was outdated, worked poorly on mobile devices and couldn’t be updated by anyone at DNW. Their search for a better online presence led them to Newedge.
It was clear that one of DNW’s major frustrations was their inability to add to and change the content on their website. We therefore turned immediately to the Silverstripe content management system.
Rather than simply build a like-for-like website, we redesign and reorganised all of their content both in navigational structure and the way in which it was presented. This resulted in a clean website which was satisfying to navigate and which could be viewed easily on any sized screen.
Mobile responsive: The new DNW website scales perfectly and automatically when viewed on smaller devices. With over 50% of the world’s internet users now browsing the web on mobile devices, the team at New Edge always treat responsive design as a high priority for any web design project
Content managed: There’s nothing worse than being unable to update your own website and having to instead call on web designers. The Silverstripe platform eradicated this problem for DNW by providing staff with user-managed access to all pages and navigation elements
By using Silverstripe, we were also able to implement a customer log in area. A validation process ensures new customers can register quickly and securely and be granted access by DNW to an online catalogue of privileged documents.
To compliment DNW’s powerful branding, the team at New Edge developed a custom set of graphics and icons to illustrate and provide some character for their impressive array of services.
