Combining heritage and modern web design for Belmont. A Northampton favourite with a digital need.
Belmont Press first opened its doors in 1952 and is now home to over 160 employees and a 24-hour operation. A much-loved Northampton firm, Belmont has been a permanent fixture in the county, providing fantastic job opportunities for local residents.
In a bid to raise their game online and produce more leads from the web, Belmont approached Newedge, and we were only too happy to assist.
Modern lead generation in a classic industry
Few industries are as classic or endearing as the print sector, but among Belmont’s impressive range of both old and new printing technology and practices lies a desire to remain relevant for a wide range of customers.
Belmont’s existing web presence was looking dated and simply didn’t befit a brand that had so much heritage and established trust within its sector. They also needed more leads to be generated, which is why we turned immediately to the power of the Silverstripe CMS to build a new, proactive web presence.
We don’t believe in off-the-shelf website templates and Belmont was a classic example of an established firm that needed a unique, custom design.
This enabled us to create a beautiful, user experience-led design. But it wasn’t just skin deep - the new Belmont website includes an SEO module that will ensure the company can compete for the most appropriate keyword searches in its sector.
Belmont Press is obviously a highly visual business, and the new website needed to make image management as simple as possible.
Just like any CMS-controlled website the Newedge team develops, the new Belmont website is completely customisable by the Belmont team. In particular, images can be added at will and resized quickly to best fit screens of all sizes.
That’s not all, though - Belmont staff can also add blogs, adjust existing content and create new landing pages whenever the need arises, and without any expert assistance.
When you step into the Belmont factory it’s hard not to be impressed by the sheer scale of the operation and incredible machinery they have at their disposal.
We wanted to capture the size of the business and the wonderful print machines in the best way possible, and that meant a zero-tolerance approach to stock imagery. Instead, we undertook a round of professional photography of both the premises and staff.
The result? A website that is unmistakably Belmont’s, and one which draws you in and encourages you to act.
We relish working with traditional established businesses like Belmont - particularly when they sit at the heart of Northamptonshire’s bustling economy. The new website is yet another decisive moment in Belmont’s history and is set to produce a predictable, consistent flow of new leads for the foreseeable future.
