We love visiting clients, but some visits are particularly special.
In August, we were asked to meet the team at Spectrum, a Northampton-based charity. Opened in 1971 by Princess Anne and given a new identity by The Earl Spencer in 2012, Spectrum is a fabulous skills training and education resource centre that focuses on recovery-based services.
Spectrum's short term, goal-focused placements and focus on enduring mental health, makes it a brilliant place for people with learning disabilities to gain new skills and achieve their goals.
The reason for our visit was to discuss the build of their new website. Keen to overhaul what they already have in place, the charity wanted a new, vibrant online portal that reflected the organisation’s endearing personality.
New Edge were only too happy to help, and at the time of writing, we’re busy photographing their premises and designing and building a fantastic website for Spectrum. We can’t wait to show you what we’ve come up with.
We’re used to heading out and meeting clients. We love it and it’s what sets New Edge apart from the many faceless business relationships that take place in the digital era. But some visits are different, and Spectrum fell squarely into the ‘memorable’ bracket.
During a tour of the wonderful Spectrum facility (it’s huge with so many varied activities taking place), New Edge director, Pete Halsey, came across a chap who has quickly established himself as Spectrum’s in-house artist.
Spending his time at the centre creating stunning works of art, he took time out from his craft to show Pete his latest creations.
Pete was handed the following drawing by that very Spectrum team member, which now hangs proudly in the New Edge office:
It’s a rare occurrence to leave a meeting with a piece of artwork, and we’d like to thank that member of the Spectrum team for giving us something fab to look at every time we enter the office!
The new Spectrum website will be available for everyone to see soon, and we’d like to take this opportunity to again thank Jenny and the rest of the Spectrum management team for giving New Edge the opportunity to work with such a fantastic organisation. It makes this all worthwhile!
